The Renaissance Hotel in Reno is a renovation of an existing hotel property into the first full-service, flagged hotel in Reno history. Bunnyfish was the designer for the entire hotel, from guest rooms to public spaces.
The design speaks to the historical and immediate local context, as well as Reno’s emerging tech industry and economic future, creating a sophisticated environment with Renaissance’s signature wit. Every space is designed to have story-worthy moments and encourage special guest experiences. For example, the dog-friendly hotel has a wall with pet tags that allows guests to have their best friend’s name engraved and become part of an evolving art installation.
Inspire is an experiential work and play destination at the heart of Las Vegas’ Downtown revitalization, set into motion by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh. Bunnyfish was the architect and designer for the entire project, including the exterior re-design and all interior spaces—from a 150 seat theater to several bars to co-working areas.
Originally built in 1952, the single level building was adaptively reused into a three level structure with modern design interventions. This project is truly a Bunnyfish project, where two fundamentally different things—in this case the old structure and the new finishes—are seamlessly combined, such that one can’t imagine them being apart. Each space is designed to evoke a unique experience, while allowing the spaces to connect and encourage exploration and collisions.
In addition to Inspire, Bunnyfish worked on 25 other adaptive reuse projects as part of our exciting Downtown revival!
The BEND is a new 10-acre contemporary desert shopping center anchored by a luxury movie theater. Bunnyfish is rethinking the traditional approach to a retail center, and creating a place that is a holistic destination where people will shop, drink, eat, and play. The architecture undulates and bends as inspired by the natural surrounding desert. The tenant focus is on interesting and locally branded food and beverage venues.
Michael Mina is a fine dining experience adjacent to the Bellagio Conservatory. As a culinary institution with a celebrity chef, care was taken during the renovation to preserve the elegance of the brand, while updating the finishes and palette.
The soft and monochromatic palette blends light, texture, and subtle patterns. The key to the guest experience is to be in a beautiful space with the focus on the culinary delights.
